O2B2 TORONTO EXPERIENCE PART 1

It's been a week now since I attended the O2B2 (outofthebeautybox) workshop and I still can't get over the fact that I personally met the two of the most popular youtube beauty gurus Elessa Jade a.k.a. Pursebuzz and Koren Zander a.k.a Enkoremakeup. I took the 2 day class which was Pro Bridal/Editorial and Pro Airbrush 1. It was also sponsored by Beauty So Clean. All I can say is that I've learned so much in the workshop and I just want to thank both Koren and Elessa for doing a great job and making so much effort to teach us to excel in the makeup industry.

So during the first day, Saturday (Oct. 15) was the Pro Bridal/Editorial class which took place at Arlene Malakien Studio Downtown Toronto. My sister/model and I arrived on time and she noticed that there was a limo in front of our cab and she knew that it was the beauty gurus. :) I was so excited to see who's inside that limo and when I saw that it was them, I panicked. Honestly, I was starstrucked! For me it's like seeing Justin Bieber. Haha. So they opened the door and we went to the studio where the class was being held. When we arrived in the room, I find it so awkwad at first coz I'm used to watching them on youtube and seeing them the first just made me nervous. I didn't even know what to expect. I even thought that they're going to be stiff and acting like they're stars and no one should touch or talk to them. But they proved me wrong, the very first time they met us, they gave us a hug which was a relief for me. It removed my tension for a bit. My sister even told me that I was like a kid in the candy shop. Elessa and Koren made me feel comfortable talking to them but I was still starstrucked!

I've learned alot in the Pro Bridal class. Before I took the workshop, I thought I knew everything. Koren explained to us the color wheel. I knew what a color wheel was but not detailed the way he taught us. I remember him telling us that "you don't need to have a gazillion eyeshadow colors in your kit, you can only have 1 color and play with it to get a specific color like the one that MAC or any makeup brand has as long as you have black and white eyeshadow you really can work it" (TINT, TONE and SHADE). But before he even talked about the color wheel, we had to do an inventory first. Which means we get to open our precious kits! As soon as we opened our kits, everybody in the class were quiet and was just amazed on how much makeup comes with it. It feels like it's Christmas and we're opening our gifts. After doing the inventory, Koren proceed to the lecture. From the color wheel he also discussed to us how to make a certain eye color pop using eyeshadows. The way the class worked was Koren and Elessa will work on their model which was the representative of Beauty So Clean (i forgot what her name was. sorry!). First they taught us how to prep the client's skin using the Embryolisse Lait Creme (amazing product!) then after them showing us how to do it, we get a chance to do it to our models as well. The Embryolisse Lait Creme product was just amazing! I always do my sister's makeup before and I've never seen her skin so moisturized until I used it on her. Then they moved to the eyeshadow application then foundation, eyebrows and finally the lips. Then we had to do the same. And here's my Before and After makeup application.
After the class we got to do a photoshoot with the models. It was fun coz Elessa was the photographer. :) Then we got our certificates! I was so happy and I even got a picture with Elessa and Koren.

It was a very long day for us coz we get to travel for an hour and a half  but I say it's all worth it! :) I am also looking forward to the upcoming workshops they might have. And here's what we got from the kit. 'till my next blog.

xoxo, kreeza
